So this is what we've been dealing with the last 3 days.
Schools all over the metroplex have been cancelled all week and I'm not hopeful tomorrow will be any different because tomorrow morning it's suppose to snow! All of the newscasters are claiming Dallas hasn't seen a storm like this in recent memory. Growing up in the Panhandle, this was almost a norm. I remember being very excited when school was cancelled and running outside to build a snow fort with my brother or sliding with friends down the street. But living in Dallas for 11 years, we've seen snow just a small handful of times and mostly Dallas "cries wolf" when storms come through. This time however, they were right.
Justin's office has been closed, but he's gone in each day to get things done.
Charlotte and I did trek out on Tuesday, but we had to scrape ice of the gate for half an hour to get the gate to open so we could get the car out. Yesterday, we were so thankful to get invited to friends' house for some playtime and lunch! Other than that, we've been at home and are getting a little stir crazy!! Charlotte and I both love to get out and about and this is killing us. It's not the pretty, fun snowman making snow, but the terribly cold and slippery ice that you have to walk so slow so that you don't end up on your backside.
The ice is a couple inches thick in areas!
Among all the birthday parties that Charlotte has been creating for her animals, this is how we've been keeping busy (and warm)...
And lots of cuddle time!! My very favorite!!
