Soccer Star

I laughed so hard this morning that tears were rolling down my face.

Charlotte recently joined a soccer team and they had their 1st clinic today.
It was the most cutest and most hilarious thing I've ever seen!

I never would have thought watching 3 year olds run back and forth was funny, but this was top notch!

Having a blast!

President's Day

After the many days of school cancelations from the bad weather, I was surprised that Char's school was still closed for President's Day, but nonetheless, we made a fun (and messy) day of it!

Crested Butte

We recently had a fabulous trip to Crested Butte and are so thankful to the Bragalone's for offering their gorgeous mountain home to us!

However, we got very close to not being able to go because the weather was so awful here in Dallas.
Our flight was canceled a day, and then on the way to the airport (in the ice and snow), we got a FLAT TIRE! Then, once we (finally) made it on the plane, we were delayed for over 2 hours with the maintenance crew trying to get the bathrooms working and de-ice the engines.

We were seriously wondering if God was trying to send us a message, but we now know He was just trying to make it more adventurous.

The VERY BEST airplane/travel game! Melissa & Doug's Memory Bard
It was very entertaining for all of us. Both Justin and I learned that our precious 3 year old can kick our booties at it. She has a terrific memory!

So glad to be in Crested Butte!

Ready for Charlotte's 1st day of skiing. We enrolled her in a full day of ski school and she LOVED it! It was just her and one other girl with a sweet instructor from New Zealand.

Fun day, but I think someone's tired..

Hot cocoa was the best treat to end a busy day out on the slopes.

The Bragalone's beautiful view

Charlotte and Alex's 2nd day of skiing.

Riding the chairlift for the 1st time.

Both images are taken for far away to prevent Char from seeing us. I cropped them so that we could see her skills at going down the mountain.

Our Callie

Callie is our best friend.
She is the sweetest, most loving, loyal dog we've ever known.

She doesn't mind well, barks too much and steals food off the counter tops and/or plates, but we love her anyways.

Dallas, frozen

So this is what we've been dealing with the last 3 days.
Schools all over the metroplex have been cancelled all week and I'm not hopeful tomorrow will be any different because tomorrow morning it's suppose to snow! All of the newscasters are claiming Dallas hasn't seen a storm like this in recent memory. Growing up in the Panhandle, this was almost a norm. I remember being very excited when school was cancelled and running outside to build a snow fort with my brother or sliding with friends down the street. But living in Dallas for 11 years, we've seen snow just a small handful of times and mostly Dallas "cries wolf" when storms come through. This time however, they were right.
Justin's office has been closed, but he's gone in each day to get things done.
Charlotte and I did trek out on Tuesday, but we had to scrape ice of the gate for half an hour to get the gate to open so we could get the car out. Yesterday, we were so thankful to get invited to friends' house for some playtime and lunch! Other than that, we've been at home and are getting a little stir crazy!! Charlotte and I both love to get out and about and this is killing us. It's not the pretty, fun snowman making snow, but the terribly cold and slippery ice that you have to walk so slow so that you don't end up on your backside.

The ice is a couple inches thick in areas!

Among all the birthday parties that Charlotte has been creating for her animals, this is how we've been keeping busy (and warm)...

And lots of cuddle time!! My very favorite!!
