1st Haircut

A few days ago, we decided it was time to get Charlotte's hair trimmed for the 1st time. We took her to a children's salon in the back of Stride Rite. She did a great job! She liked watching them in the mirror comb and trim her hair. She looks like such a big girl in these pictures. I can't think of this as a milestone or Mommy will start getting emotional (sniff sniff).

When she was finished, they printed us a certificate for 1st Haircut and gave us a tiny lock of her hair wrapped up for safe keeping.

Merry Christmas to All

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!

We got to have our families here to celebrate with us on Christmas morning. I think Charlotte loved having Christmas in her own house and she LOVED unwrapping and playing with each present!

When we asked Charlotte what she wanted from Santa, she replied, "Candy Cane!"

I think Santa brought a little more than just a candy cane. She must have been a very good girl!

Belated Birthday Bash

Because of all of us being sick, Charlotte's birthday celebrations got delayed and caused us to have MANY small celebrations. Including this one with the grandparents.....

It's fun to celebrate all month long!

Cookies for Santa

Charlotte and I decided it would be fun to make cookies for Santa this year. So, we pulled out the recipe books and got started. She had a blast helping me in the kitchen! The mixer and rolling pin were so exciting!! Oh, and spreading flour for rolling our cookies out! There was WAY more flour out than needed, but it was just too cute the way she'd dip her hand into the flour box and sprinkle (or dump) it onto the cutting board. She'd say, "more flour mama!"

I know Santa was very happy with the end product!

And so was Charlotte!

Kiss the Cook

Sweet Cate gave Charlotte this darling chef's hat and apron for her birthday. Charlotte immediately fell in love with it and didn't want to take it off. We think she looks so darling in it. Daddy helped her pose for some great action pics.

Thanks again Cate!

Birthday Hayride

We got to have a FUN birthday celebration with Charlotte's best friend, Spencer. His birthday is just a couple week after hers, and since her birthday was filled with sickness, this was a great way to celebrate being 2!! We always have a wonderful time with the Carters ~ and with a few more friends and perfect weather, the hayride was a blast! We got to have an hour Christmas light tour around Highland Park and saw some of the most beautiful lights we've ever seen!
Both Charlotte and Spencer loved it! Happy Birthday you two!

Santa 3

Santa is everywhere this year!
We had Breakfast with Santa at Lakewood. It was quite the production! They really go all out for festivities. Charlotte enjoyed seeing Santa again and getting to sit in his sleigh. We had a great time.

Santa 2

This is the Santa, I've been working her up to see. We went to Neiman Marcus downtown to see him. I heard that the lines are much shorter than Northpark, and it worked out so well. Charlotte was thrilled to see Santa again. While waiting, Charlotte loved watching the other kids interact with him. By the time it was her turn, she walked right up to him and wanted to be picked up. When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she replied, "Candy!"
That's my girl!

Santa 1

Like most kids, last year, Charlotte was pretty afraid of Santa. So, to convince her otherwise, I began setting up our decorative Santas before Thanksgiving this year. We talked to each of them daily and I might have said something about Santa giving good kids candy. Well, I believe it worked! We went with friends to see Santa at TCBY. Yes, the big man loves frozen yogurt! Charlotte willingly went up to him and sat on his lap and guess what.... he gave her candy!!! It worked!!

Happy Birthday to Charlotte

Charlotte is 2!
It is so hard to believe that she has only been in our lives for 2 years. She brings so much joy and energy each day. Justin and I love to just watch and listen to the exciting new things she has to say. She now talks in almost complete sentences. It cracks us up the things that she says now.

We had a big Birthday trip planned to Borger, but it got cancelled because all 3 of us got sick. With Charlotte and I running fevers at home, Justin ran all around town making sure that his baby girl had a birthday cake and balloons on her special day. He is the best daddy in the world. He took such good care of both of us while we were sick, that the poor thing became sick himself from all of our germs.

Even though it was just us 3 celebrating, we had a wonderful party. Charlotte was very excited with her presents and especially the cake. Way to go Daddy!

It Snowed... sort of

We woke up last Wednesday morning to see it snowing in Dallas.

It was a fun surprise! But by the time we got dressed and found the camera, it had stopped.

Charlotte's 1st snow

Where did November go??

Where did November go?
It seems like it came and went very fast this year. October was a fun and busy month, so I guess I took an "unofficial" blogging break in November.

As always, Charlotte and I fill our days with activities of play and shopping, but we look forward to the weekends when we can have Justin with us.

November, in our neck of the woods, means LOTS of leaves. This year, Charlotte LOVED playing in them. We bought her a rake just her size so that she could help. And, of course, nothing's better than raking leaves with fairy wings on!!

Our Pumpkin

It dawned on me that I never took a picture of Justin's finished work.
Can you say, "MEOW"?

Trunk or Treat

Charlotte's school hosted a "Trunk or Treat" tonight in the parking lot.

Everyone was suppose to decorate the trunk of their car and hand out treats. It was a larger event than I anticipated. Many (veterans) went all out with their decorations! Too bad I didn't get many pictures, but a few cars were decked out.
